There is a Proverb, which says "There is one sticking closer then a brother". Would you describe your friends like that? Someone who you can run to in your times of need, who always encourages you to do the right thing and looks out for your health and safety? If you have friends like these you should cherish them.
However, there are some 'friends' who are no good. Sandra was a happy teenager she was athletic, popular and academic. She thrived on the attention she got for her sporting abilities and people respected her. Sandra found it really easy to make friends. She managed to get herself into a group who spent most of their weekends partying and drinking which eventually led to taking drugs. Sandra had never seen herself going down this path, but eventually it became her way of life. Sandra now nineteen realizes that what she was doing was wrong and is now fighting her drug habit. |

Then there are selfish friends who have the typical behaviour borrowing things without giving them back. Being friendly only to get help (with homework or money) or ‘friends’ who ignore or exclude you from groups. There comes a time when you have to ask yourself "Does this friends really care about me or are they using me?" Then you have to find the strength and resilience to say to yourself these aren't true friends and find people who are your real friends.
