You Are Beautiful

How easy it is to get caught up in all the hype about what is and what’s not “beautiful”. Yes I understand that every time we pick up a magazine or flip through the television stations we are staring at what society has deemed “beautiful”. But come on who really has a right to define beauty and then dictate that we should all adopt that said definition? After all have we lost sight of the fact that you had absolutely nothing to do with what you looked like when you came out of the womb? Rather it was God who formed you and therefore you were created perfectly, because He is unquestionably incapable of creating a mess!
But since what we look like is such a huge deal in society, let’s talk about it for a few minutes. Let’s begin with your hair, who really cares if it’s kinky or silky or if it’s yours or a weave? For every person who likes a certain type of hair there are an equal amount of people who like just the opposite. And so what if your skin is as moist as the Rain Forest or as dry as the Sahara it’s yours and there are more than enough products on the market to change it one way or the other. And trust me it doesn’t matter if your eyes are as small as dimes or as large as quarters, it’s the sparkle in them that makes them stand out…not the shape. Whether your lips are as thin as rails or look like you get weekly Botox injections there is not another pair lips anywhere that you could wear as well as you do the ones you were given. And so what if your skin tone is light as vanilla or dark as chocolate that’s why you are beautiful right now. The length of your neck, the width of your shoulders, your breasts big or small, your waist size, your gluteus maximus, the thickness of your thighs and yes even your feet will always be open to somebody’s criticism but haven’t haters been around since the beginning of time?
