How my Journey Began

thatgirl Magazine was created by Sonya A. Grey to give African American teen girls a voice and a face in their image. The content of this blog is to provide interest that concerns the lifestyle and culture of African American teen girls. This online publication is dedicated to exposing our readers to editorials with substance, life guidance, education, and investing in the future development of our youth. We are designed to be one of the most popular blogs made exclusively for African American teen girls; our aim is to enrich our readers with powerful and invaluable information. Our purpose is to set unlimited horizons and encourage our teen girls to achieve their greatest potential. Our commitment is to lead, equip and educate disadvantaged Black teen girls across the nation.

Mission Statement

thatgirl Magazine programs were created to develop inner-city disadvantaged youth ages 13-17 in low-income communities’ guidance to become the next generation of America’s top influential political leaders, business leaders, community leaders, and entrepreneurs. Our programs will give direction to our youth to prepare them at a young age for their future careers and purpose for life. We will introduce the youth to individuals who have come from similar backgrounds that have achieved successful careers.  We will expose them women who are our current leaders and decision-makers in our cities throughout the nation. The purpose of our programs is to give our youth a “future and a hope.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to help the inner-city youth to discover their purpose and future careers and to influence them to pursue prominent positions in our society as leaders and decision-makers. thatgirl magazine will offer leadership development to train teen girls to build confidence, ability, and talent.
